Roof Check — Privacy Policy

Roof Check is a Chrome extension published by Roofer Rocket Marketing that audits a roofing contractor website's Local SEO and AI/LLM visibility. This page explains what the extension does and does not do with data.

What Roof Check reads

When you click the extension on a webpage, it reads that page's publicly visible HTML (text, headings, links, schema markup, images' alt text, etc.) to compute a score. It also checks a handful of public, non-personal URLs on the same site — /sitemap.xml, /robots.txt, and /favicon.ico — to detect technical SEO signals.

What Roof Check does not do

• It does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information about you or your browsing.
• It does not track your browsing activity across sites.
• Page analysis itself happens locally, in your browser. The content of the page you're viewing is never sent to any server we operate.

What is stored, and where

Your plan tier and license key (if you activate Pro or Elite) are stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API.

License verification

If you activate a Pro or Elite license key, that key is sent to our server (rooferhelp.app/api/license/verify) so we can confirm it corresponds to an active subscription and tell the extension which tier to unlock. This happens when you activate a key, and periodically afterward (about once every 24 hours, plus whenever the browser starts) so that a canceled or expired subscription correctly loses Pro/Elite access. No page content, browsing history, or personal information beyond the license key itself is sent in this request.

Permissions

• activeTab — lets the extension read the current tab only when you click it.
• scripting — lets the extension run its analysis script on the page you're viewing.
• storage — lets the extension remember your plan tier and license key locally between sessions.
• alarms — schedules the periodic license re-verification described above.
• host access to rooferhelp.app — lets the extension contact our server to verify a license key, both when you activate it and periodically afterward.
